Wigeon on Laugharne Estuary.

Wigeon (Anas Penelope) a very colourful and distinctive duck especially the male. It is a very gregarious bird and these three males were part of a sizeable flock feeding on Laugharne Estuary in Carmarthenshire. This image is also available on my Photo4me site here.

Porth Wen Brickworks, Anglesey.

Porth Wen Brickworks is a disused Victorian brickworks which produced bricks made from quartzite (silica) which was used to line steel making furnaces. The brickworks is situated on the western side of Porth Wen on the north side of the island of Anglesey.

The Eye of the Painted Lady Butterfly.

The Painted lady butterfly is a regular visitor to gardens during April to October. it is a regular visitor but cannot survive the winter. The butterfly migrates from South Europe each spring. Sunset and the Sticks on Pendine Beach.

Sunset on Pendine beach with the sticks in the foreground and the coastline of Tenby in the distance . These sticks are situated midway down the beach and have been in situ for sometime because they have collected much sea growth. I have no idea what purpose these sticks serve.
